Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights for my birthday and had the best cocktail experience ever with Matt who created our cocktails to suit our taste. With this we received the best tasting nibbles to go with it. Absolutely fantastic, thank you Matt. Would also like to give a thanks to the waiter in the bar Frank, great service.
Gin tasting was booked as a gift from family! Learnt from Jacek about the history of gin and how different types/brands are made. An incredibly knowledgable man who didn’t rush us through our 2 hour experience. We had a super time. Sampled 3 different gins, all both neat and with tonics. Atmosphere, service and staff were fantastic. Highly recommend!
My girlfriend took me here for the whiskey tasting experience for my birthday, it was brilliant. The wonderful Raj welcomed us and made us feel excited to be there and that they were genuinely happy to have us, it was the best service I have ever experienced. We were then introduced to Frank who guided us through our experience. He was knowledgeable and friendly, an absolute pleasure. The whiskeys were delicious, as were the accompanying cheeses, sharing dishes, and the birthday dessert they kindly gave me. We have already arranged to go back, I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I booked in for the Cocktail Masterclass. I was surprised that the class went ahead as I was the only one registered for this particular time slot. It was an excellent session. Matt was extremely knowledgeable and personable; and I enjoyed a classic cocktail and a bespoke cocktail as part of the experience. I’ve enjoyed a few lovely cocktails and great conversations on other occasions during my stay at the Rubens. The bar / wait staff have all provided service to the highest standards.
This is an amazing find if you enjoy cocktails. We came in and had a few whiskey drinks and then once the bartender realized we were big fans of whiskey they made us one of their own special drinks. We had some snacks as well and they were tasty. The drinks were amazing. And the service and atmosphere was amazing. We will come back here.
We visited the New York bar for their pre-theatre menu, and the wagyu sandwiches were very good—I’d rate them 4/5. However, I would have liked the waiter to refill my water more often, as I had an empty glass for 20 minutes and had to ask. On the plus side, they were much quicker with refilling the champagne! The cheesecake, made from the owner’s recipe, was amazing and highly recommended. Overall, I’d give the experience 4.5 stars, as the service (aside from the water issue) was excellent, and the staff were incredibly kind.
